Warm Wishes Art Project
Dear Teachers,
We need your help with a special project that will brighten up the lives of the homeless during the Holiday Season. There is a local organization called Warm Wishes, that for several years has handed out items of clothing to help keep the homeless warm in the winter months.
This year, Warm Wishes will be handing out 5,000 over-sized fanny packs filled with ski gloves, thermal socks, knit cap, and a rain poncho.
We would like to include a holiday card drawn by a student and signed on the front or back.
This is a great chance to have an opportunity to warm the hearts of many, both from the givers and the receivers. This is a fun and rewarding holiday school project at any level of participation.
Here is what we would like you to do:
- Sign with: "Warm Wishes" and the child's first name only. Example: Warm Wishes, Jimmy
- Give each child one or two cards on which to draw a holiday scene or picture.
- Use crayons or colored pencils, no markers and no glitter.
- Please check cards for appropriateness. No last names on the cards.
Warm Wishes needs the cards by 8 a.m. on December 1, assembly and distribution day at Unity in Marin, 600 Palm Drive, Novato. For more information call Cindy Rowley at 456-5905 or email rrowley778@aol.com
Please make copies of the Warm Wishes, "Come one come all,"
and send home to parents.
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION.
